You did a very good job on summarizing the main points about formative assessment and summative assessment. It’s true that these two types of assessments have their own advantages and disadvantages, but whole purpose of them both are similar. I have discussed the pros and cons of them in my blog as well, if you are interested, you can go read it. By the way, there is one point that you mentioned which is i didn’t consider it before. The pressure caused from summative assessment. Do you think if we taks off the summative assessment from teaching, is that good?
